Mount Everest, A himalyan peak located between Nepal and Tibet,an autonomous region of China also known as Mount Qomolangma in China has been a fascinating one for mankind. The Highest peak reaching to which presents a difficult and dangerous task even for experienced ones.
But What is now more interesting and important is that Mountaineers can now enjoy 5G network at the base camps of Mount Everest.
China Mobile, A chinese telecom operator working in partnership with Huawei to setup 5G base Stationson Mount Everest. After the completion of Project, It will be the highest Place in the World with 5G connectivity.
Talking about the progress, Three 5G stations are already setup at the mountain base and transition camps measured 5300 and 5800 metres of Height respectively. And further in coming days most probably on Saturday (25th April) hopeful to see two more setups at the 6500 metre high advance camp.The Point from where network reach will be all over the summit of 8848 metre mountain.
There are number of questions in mind that How the continous supply of power will be maintained to run the towers and 5G setup, What will be the surity of 5G signal Stability?
The Answer to all the Questions is the small and lightweight antenna Unit designed by Huawei provides some relief in this task, to setup the towers at such height.
Other than Antenna, 25 Kilometre of Optical Fibre cable also been laid for the same.
One thing is sure that it is not a cheap task or project. Yes, experts estimated the cost of setting up just one station is around $140,000.
In addition to this Global Times reports (A newspapere in China) the 5G base stations at everest provide downloading speeds of 1Gbps.
According to China Mobile, Telecom tested upload and download speeds were 700Mbps and 223Mbps respectively for the 5G stations setup at 5145.3 metre height at Everest on April 13.
With This atleast communication is expected to be better and helpful for researcher and mountaineers.
