The Japanese Giant with EV Battery production of roughly a 50 gigawatt-hours per year currently, aims to triple or quadruple the EV production capacity by fiscal 2028.

As reported earlier in June, apart from Nevada factory which supplies smaller EV batteries to Tesla, Panasonic was in search of potential factory sites in Kansas and Oklahoma to increase the battery supply to the US electronic automaker plant in Texas.

The new High-Capacity Battery is about five times bigger than those Panasonic currently manufactured for and supplies to Tesla, which could automatically enable the Carmaker to lower production costs and boost driving range.

However, amid reports, Neither Panasonic nor Tesla immediately responds to Reuters` request for comment. Kansas and Oklahoma government officials were not immediately available too.
