Audi A4 - Things to Know - Quick View

The Audi A4 is a quintessential compact luxury sports sedan, with a richly appointed cabin, lively handling, and upscale styling. Audis are known for their quattro all-wheel-drive system which provides plenty of grip in variable conditions. The A4 comes standard with two turbocharged four-cylinder engines that are more powerful than ever before.

With the additions of the new S4 and RS4, there's an Audi for every driver in this lineup. But the best version is the new A4 2.0T, which boasts a 255-hp turbocharged engine, a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. The A4 has a straightforward design that's handsome from most angles, but somewhat bland. Inside, the A4 delivers with high-quality materials, nice touches like ambient lighting and upscale infotainment systems. It's also sporty to drive with quick steering and good handling, although it feels heavier than many of its competitors.

Styles and Pricing

The Audi A4 comes in several different trims, including the Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige and Sport. The 2017 Audi A4 carries a base price of $35,800 while the S4 starts at $51,300. The price for a loaded 2018 Audi A4 tops out at $57,500 for the S line trim. The 2018 Audi A4 starts at about $33K but can cost as much as $74K with all available options. The 2018 Audi A4 Prestige is priced at $44,900 and the 2018 Audi S4 Prestige starts at $55,200.

Powertrains

The 2018 Audi A4 is offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gas engine that makes 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and quickly. The available all-wheel drive helps to put the power down in slippery conditions.

Audi A4 Feature Overview

The Audi A4, Audi’s most popular models, feature Audi’s world-class Sensus intelligent parking system. The A4’s spacious cabin is equipped with ample storage, a fully integrated media system, and a 12-megapixel rear view camera. Standard safety equipment also includes a tire-pressure monitor and brake assist system.

While the A4’s interior is spacious, it is loaded with luxury and driver-focused features that have made it one of the most desirable models to drive. Audi’s innovative engineering is responsible for the A4’s superior safety, technology, performance, and driving experience.

When Audi introduced the A4 in the mid-1990s, it made it the flagship model in a line whose appeal was growing. The A4 was the ideal combination of luxuriousness, value, and style, and Audi’s first-to-market sedan was a sensation. For this reason, Audi continues to make the A4 a top-of-line four-door sedan, and the model’s latest version, the A4 quattro, represents its flagship offering.

Audi’s A4 has long been a model of performance and excellence in the Audi line-up, and the 2016 model continues the tradition by including several advances that help make performance the car’s centerpiece. These include Audi’s state-of-the-art six-cylinder engine and state-of-the-art six-speed manual transmission to give the A4 its responsive nature and its low 0–60-mph time of just 3.1 seconds.

In addition to the A4’s impressive performance features, the 2016 Audi A4 represents a bold departure in design. The 2016 Audi A4 features a

What’s new in the new Audi A4? The A4 is basically the new midsize sedan which features Audi all-wheel drive and an optional AWD system. The all-new A4 is available in a wide variety of engine choices, and it was launched in the US in January of 2017.

The first major new engineering change is the new 3.0-litre, direct-injected V6 with an output of 310 Horsepower and 332 lbs.-ft. of torque. The new 3.0-liter V6 is also the first V6 to be available in direct- Injected form. The company says this is a key step towards an emissions-free powertrain. It’s rated by the government as producing a 25% increase in CO2 emissions over the previous 3.0-liter V6 used in the TT.

The all-new A4 will also be the first Audi with an electrically-assisted steering system. It’s also been designed with the latest Electronic Control Units (ECU) and the company has released full specs in the U.S.

The latest A4 is also the first Audi to use an all-wheel-drive system for the first-ever AWD system. A four-gear differential provides a 50:50 distribution between front and rear wheels depending on the situation.

The last update, A4-R, was back in 2016 with very few changes. The update made the car look sharper, improved all the interior features and introduced various extra functions to help its drivers in their daily life. With the release of the fresh and updated Audi A4 A4-R, is the car about to become a real competitor to the current top ranking SUVs in the market today? Yes and no.

The new A4-R will not have the power of the A4 models, but instead are expected to gain more comfort features. There are several rumors going around with regard to the A4-R as the car, with this latest update, will give a much more luxury feel. Will the features of the new A4-R be similar enough to the regular A4 or should we expect to see a significant change in the car? Let’s have a look at every aspect of the Audi A4 A4-R and decide whether the upcoming model is going to be a different or a continuation of the model presented last year.

It may start with some major visual changes like a sharper more detailed front grille that will make the most of the available black paint and carbon fiber grille. Audi says some more visual changes will be made on the interior in the coming months, but in a more limited way than what we could see in the A4 A4-R last year.

Audi will be giving a slight boost in its available space compared with the standard A4 A4-R by roughly 20 percent. Even so, most of this ‘extra’ space will be taken by a couple of new models that are not too far away of each other.
