India could likely be the brand's next destination and feasibility studies for it have already begun, Hyundai India CEO and CEO SS Kim told TOI.
Kim said: “We are conducting a feasibility study in the luxury segment, although it is too early to speak of a final plan and launch date.
He said the luxury auto business in India is dominated by German manufacturers and that Hyundai understands the reasons for their strong involvement and how new brands can step in. create a strong niche in the luxury category in markets such as the US and South Korea.
"Genesis's philosophy and core values are completely different from Hyundai's." Hyundai isn't the only automaker with a great luxury brand: Toyota sells luxury cars under Lexus, and Nissan owns Infiniti.
