Hunting for power performance lovers

If you manage to see a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 on Indian streets, remember that it is one of only a few storming down our country's freeways. It may not suit every pocket at roughly 2 crores ex-showroom price, but it is more than sure to fit a decent garage as well as provide a flair that few other performance cars may.

But what distinguishes the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is that it is both a stunner at rest and a speedster on the move. In any case, expect a lot of sidelong stares.

Whilst in its black body colours it seems like an absolute intermediate machine, there's also the slick silver looker. Typical of the GT series as a low slung profile, its outside profile is developed especially for aerodynamic character through the wind. With the alloy design, the two-door speedster can be supplied and sprints on 18-inch wheels, to improve the sporty side profile. The brake pads are bright yellow provide a youthful contrast, whilst powerful but basic lines of character are specifically designed to emphasize the car's speed. At the rear are two huge exhalation valves, which may roar so loudly and impress even the strongest believers of EVs. The profile is completed by a fixed rear wing spoiler and the whole rear trunk.

Step in and put the Porsche 718 GT4 on the track, each time, and in the sports seats. Alongside the minimalistic control wheel and the sleek profile of the dashboard, the interior has one job to do, and one thing is for itself: quickness. Oh, and perhaps also security.

The heart of what the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 represents are speed and safety. The first is supplied with a naturally aspirated 4,0-liter six-cylinder motor. This is connected to a hand-held six-speed unit. 414 horsepower are available and 420 Nm torque is available.

Put the metal pedal and you are likely to be able to hit 100 kmph when Porsche claims - 4.4 seconds. While it is not quite the highest speed of 304 km/h on most roads, the 718 Cayman GT4 is unlikely to be shy of the figure if on the routes.

However, if it is necessary to stop the rough speed, anticipate the fixed-calliper brakes of the aluminum monobloc to settle things down immediately. Then the choice of Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes is also available.

Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) is supported by the backwheel drive machine with a mechanical rear differential lock, Porsche Stability Management, ABS and more, which improves its drive characteristics while ensuring safety.

Clearly, the Porsche Cayman GT4 is not designed for family trips. But it promises to make up for more than just the performance of what it loses in terms of sitting space. And honestly, a commitment would be made to satisfy the performance fanatics in the automotive sector.
