Skoda Slavia confirmed for India and will up against Ciaz, Verna, and City.

Skoda Auto India officially announced on Thursday that it will begin selling the Skoda Slavia sedan in India by the end of the year. Once it is unveiled, the Skoda Slavia will compete in the C-segment sedan class, which includes the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Honda City.

The Skoda Slavia has a lot to offer, especially because it has been extensively tested in Europe since over a year, even though it is going to India first.

The name 'Slavia' dates back to 1896, when the company's founders collaborated on the first bicycles. The title may be a nod to the company's roots, but the sedan is all new and the second KODA model to emerge from the India 2.0 initiative. "KODA has a long and illustrious global history spanning more than 125 years. "The name Slavia signifies the start of a success narrative that has helped KODA become one of the most known automobile manufacturers," said Zac Hollis, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India. "We expect to significantly increase our volumes in India, and the Slavia will play a crucial part in achieving this goal."

When compared to Rapid, Slavia is predicted to be slightly larger in size. It'll almost certainly come with a slew of features, some of which will be lifted directly from the Kushaq SUV, as well as two turbo petrol engine variants.

Skoda is taking a gamble by driving in Slavia in India, where the sedan sector has been declining. While the Toyota Yaris was just recently retired, other Toyota models such as the Ciaz, Verna, and City aren't performing as well as they previously did. SUVs have been the driving force in the Indian automobile sector, with many believing that this has come at the price of sedans.

Likewise Skoda in India has tried to capitalize on the SUV trend, and its Kushaq mid-size SUV has performed admirably. The vehicle was introduced to the public earlier this year.
